Everyone lies. But not everyone lies the same way, and the science of deception detection is built on the idea that the body and mind leave traces when the truth is being withheld.

The Micro Credential Program in Lie Detection and Polygraph explores the psychological, physiological, and technological dimensions of identifying deceptive behavior in forensic and investigative contexts.

Finally, the program focuses on layered voice analysis, including its principles, mechanisms, and application in detecting stress and deception in speech. The course also highlights the limitations and legal considerations associated with voice-based analysis techniques.

    MODULE 1 – SCIENCE OF DECEPTION

The module also covers emotional and physiological responses associated with lying, such as stress and anxiety indicators, along with different motivations behind deceptive behavior, providing an overview of how and why deception occurs in forensic contexts.

    MODULE 2 – SCIENTIFIC FOUNDATION OF POLYGRAPH TESTING

    This module focuses on the scientific principles underlying polygraph examinations, theories that support the use of physiological responses in detecting deception, and polygraph mechanisms and instrumentation. The module covers the different phases of a polygraph test, including pre-test, in-test, and post-test procedures, along with factors that influence test results and the interpretation of polygraph data in forensic investigations.

    MODULE 3 – ETHICAL AND LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS IN POLYGRAPH TESTING

    This module explores the legal and ethical dimensions of polygraph testing, like standards governing the admissibility of polygraph results in legal proceedings, ethical dilemmas faced by examiners, the importance of informed consent, confidentiality, and protecting the rights of individuals undergoing testing.
