Forensic accounting is a specialized field that combines investigative techniques with financial expertise to analyze, interpret, and present complex financial data for use in legal and criminal investigations. SIFS is introducing a 5-day Micro Certificate Program in Forensic Accounting, designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the field with a focus on detecting and preventing financial fraud, embezzlement, and other white-collar crimes. The course covers a wide range of topics, including the evolution of forensic accounting, the role and ethical responsibilities of a forensic accountant, key legal frameworks, and the integration of auditing and investigative skills. Participants will learn techniques for analyzing financial statements, tracing illicit transactions, uncovering asset misappropriation, and evaluating internal controls. The program also aid into identifying red flags in financial data, recognizing patterns of fraud, and understanding the psychological aspects of financial deception. The course is conducted over five days, with daily sessions running between 6 to 7 hours IST.
